About UYANA

UYANA is an artist from Norway who sings in Mongolian, blending throat singing, steppe folk and dark folk-rock.

Her story

Far in the north, where the Mongolian steppe meets the Siberian taiga, winter lasts most of the year and the old songs sleep under the snow. UYANA is the girl who woke them.

She wears her braids long and turquoise in her ears, and she carries a drum. She sings about what the steppe remembers: the wolf and the eagle, the fire and the eternal blue sky, and the people who went down a far road and never came home.

Who is UYANA, really?

UYANA is a character, not a real person. Her look and her voice are made with AI tools, guided by a human creator who shapes her story, chooses every song and directs every video. Her music and videos are labeled as AI-made on every platform. We will never pretend otherwise.

Her sound is inspired by the throat-singing and folk traditions of Mongolia and its neighbors. If her music moves you, go and listen to the real masters of khöömii too. That's where all of this comes from.

Why throat singing?

Because it's one of the most powerful sounds a human voice can make: one singer, two notes at once, like wind over the mountains.
